Jo was named after Grandmother du Pree, Johanna as she was born on her birthday. Jo has spent her formitive years in western Canada with Juliana learning about being a show and obedience dog. She spent her summer of 2007 in Ontario attending a few shows and she also ventured into the US to pick up a major towards her American Championship. Her limited showing, with time off to raise a litter, brought her to 2nd Corgi in Canada for 2007 and top corgi bitch.
Jo’s show career to date has been quite exciting. On top of numerous group placements in the all-breed ring, Jo has done very well at the specialties. Some of the highlights are:
- Best of Opposite - Ontario/Quebec Specialty 2008 under breeder judge Peggy Kessler (Wakefield)
- Best in Specialty Show - Saskatoon Working/Herding Specialty 2007 under breeder judge Cheryl Stuber
- Best in Specialty Show - Manitoba Specialty 2007 under breeder judge Glenda Cook (Westglen)
- Best in Specialty Show and Best Canadian Bred - Ont/Que Specialty 2007 under breeder judge Carol Saxton (Perrymist)
- Best of Opposite and Best Canadian Bred - PWCAC National Specialty 2006, under breeder-judge Tim Mathiesen (Nebrowia) just days before her 18 month birthday.
- Best in Sweeps - PWCAC National Specialty 2006, under breeder-judge Sue Vahalay (Pennington)
- Winner Bitch - Vancouver Island Specialty 2006, under breeder-judge Kristin Francis (Stonecroft)
- Best in Sweeps - Vancouver Island Specialty 2006, under breeder-judge Ashley Timmins (Pegasus)
- Multiple Group placings under breed specialists and all-breed judges.
A fish in a past life, Jo has had the pleasure of swimming in every body of water she could find between Edmonton and Victoria, including the Pacific. She is thrilled to hear that baby sister Nina and daughter Winnie are following in the family tradition of finding each and every possible body of water, big or small to immerse themselves in.
